Job Description: Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
Position Overview:
Our company is currently seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join our skilled trades team. The CWI will be responsible for ensuring compliance with welding codes, standards, and procedures to maintain the highest quality of welding work. The successful candidate will possess extensive knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and inspection methods, along with the ability to interpret and enforce welding specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct visual inspections of welding work to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
- Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) on welded joints using various methods, such as ultrasonic, radiographic, or magnetic particle testing.
- Review and interpret welding procedures, specifications, and drawings to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and welding personnel to resolve any welding-related issues or concerns.
- Provide technical guidance and support to welding personnel to ensure proper welding techniques and processes are followed.
- Document and maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and any necessary corrective actions.
- Prepare comprehensive inspection reports summarizing findings, recommendations, and any required corrective actions.
- Conduct periodic audits of welding processes, materials, and equipment to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements and changes in welding technology, techniques, materials, and standards.
Requirements:
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is mandatory.
- Minimum of [X] years of experience in welding inspection or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of welding codes and standards, such as AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, or other relevant codes.
- Proficient in conducting visual inspections and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods.

- Proficient computer skills, including the use of inspection software and MS Office applications.
- Willingness to travel to job sites as required.
